GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s soccer team has added midfielder Hannah Hoeksema (Auckland, New Zealand/Avondale college) for the 2014 season, UNCG announced Tuesday.

Hoeksema attended Avondale college high school playing multiple sports including lacrosse, cross-country and soccer. She played at the center midfield position earning Most Valuable Player twice and won the highest award at the school named Head Girl of Avondale college in 2012.

Hoeksema played club soccer with Three Kings United under head coach Andy Clay. She helped the team win the national club knockout cup in 2012 along with UNCG teammates Rebecca Burrows and Georgia Brown. In 2013, she played for the Glenfield Rovers club team placing second in the Northern Football Federation as a part of the National Women’s Youth League.

Back in July, Hoeksema was called in to participate with the New Zealand women’s under-20 national team also earning the honor in 2012.
