RALEIGH, N.C. – The UNCG women's track and field team posted three personal records Friday at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State at Paul H. Derr Track.

Junior Kelly Montague (Garner, N.C./West Johnston) and freshman Katherine Link (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) started the afternoon off on the right foot as both set personal-records in the 5,000-meter race. Montague placed 15th in her heat in a time of 18:11.11, cutting over 13 seconds off her previous career-best time (18:24.68) set last season at the same meet. Link posted a time of 18:17.58 to place 17th in the same heat in her first career performance at the distance in a meet setting.

Freshman Meredith Hicks (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road) rounded out the Spartans setting career marks as she turned in a top performance in the 1,500-meter race in her return to her hometown. Hicks posted a time of 5:23.62 to finish 20th overall in her heat, trimming almost two seconds off her time of 5:25.43 set last earlier this month at the Wake Forest Open.

The Spartans return to action next weekend at the Duke Invitational in Durham April 5-6 before running at the Joe Hilton Invitational in Chapel Hill April 13 in the final tune-up before the Southern Conference championships.
