Peyton Ford Named NSCAA Scholar All-South Region
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG fifth-year senior goalkeeper Peyton Ford (Jamestown, N.C./Southwest Guilford) has been named Second Team Scholar All-South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the organization announced Wednesday.
Ford owns a 3.98 GPA in political science and began his graduate work this past fall while earning his fourth letter for the Spartans. He picked up his second straight Second Team All-Southern Conference accolade this year after playing all but 77 minutes in goal for the Spartans this season. He posted a 1.51 goals against average with three shutouts on the year.
Ford, an Academic All-SoCon selection last year, finishes his career as the Spartans' all-time leader in minutes played with 6625:42 minutes in goal, while his 21 career shutouts rank second all-time in program history.
