Ilhan named to NSCAA all-region team
GREENSBORO, N.C.—UNCG men's soccer standout Hakan Ilhan has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) all-South third team, the organization announced on Friday.
A first-team all-Southern Conference selection this past season, Ilhan helped lead the Spartans to their second consecutive regular-season conference championship by scoring 25 points on 10 goals and five assists. Five of his 10 goals came during conference play.
Ilhan, a junior forward, finished the season ranked among SoCon leaders in points (2nd), goals (t-2nd) and game-winning goals (t-1st).
UNCG posted a 10-8-2 overall record this season, including a 5-1-1 mark in SoCon play. The Spartans lost in the finals of the conference tournament.
