GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s golf team continued the annual Bryan National Collegiate Saturday at the Bryan Park Champions Course, co-hosted by the Spartans and Wake Forest. The third and final round is slated for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on the Triad course.
Junior Berglind Bjornsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland/Menntaskolinn I Reykjavik) tallied the Spartans’ low score on the day with an 8-over par 80 in wet conditions. Bjornsdottir sits in a tie for 85th overall with a 159 (79-80). Sophomore Sammie Buchanan (Bluffton, S.C./Bluffton) is the highest ranked Spartan after 36 holes, sitting in a tie for 70th overall with a 156 (74-82). Freshman Kristin Powers (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) withdrew from the second round due to an injury so UNCG was down to just four golfers, meaning all four scores had to count on the team total.
