STANFORD, Calif. – UNC Greensboro men’s golf (275-286) remains in contention to earn a spot into the NCAA Championship, as the Spartans are currently in seventh place heading into the final round of the NCAA Stanford Regional.   

The top five teams from this regional – along with the top five teams from the other five NCAA Regionals taking place this week – will advance to the NCAA Championship, which will begin May 24 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.

The third and final round of the NCAA Stanford Regional will begin tomorrow morning and live stats will be available via Golfstat.com.

Junior Jonathan Brightwell (67-73) carded a three-over 73 during the second round. Brightwell recorded an eagle on Hole 16, his lone hole below par on the day. 

Sophomore Nick Lyerly (68-72) ended the second round at two-over 72, as the Salisbury, N.C., native birdied just once on the day against three bogeys.

Sophomore Zack Swanson (71-69) finished the second round at one-under 69 with six total birdies on the day. On the front-nine, the Waxhaw, N.C., native led the Spartans as he carded a two-under 33 with three birdies to just one bogey. The sophomore completed the back-nine at one-over 36 with birdies on two of the last three holes. 

All three are currently tied for 19th place.

Senior Bryce Hendrix (71-72) completed Tuesday’s action at two-over 72. Hendrix birdied twice on the day on Holes 9 and 16.

Junior Grant Powell (75-75) finished the second round at five-over 75, with two birdies to seven bogeys.
