LILLINGTON, N.C. – Following a quick turn of events with the Coastal Carolina University Invitational canceled due to Hurricane Irma, UNCG produced a quality showing in the Campbell Duals on Friday at the 4.2 kilometer course at the Keith Hills Golf Course.

Though the Spartans lost to the host Fightin’ Camels, the Blue and Gold earned a victory over UNCW with all five of UNCG’s scored runners finishing in the top-seven.

Setting UNCG’s top time was William Sandin (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton), who finished in 14:01. Not too far behind was Trelek Jones (Lynchburg, Va./Wake Forest), who came in at 14:39.2, just two-tenths of a second behind the Seahawks’ Evan Jones.

Freshman Jonothan Timothy timed in at 14:48, while Ewan Hynes registered a time of 14:58. Weston Clayton posted a time of 15:12, just ahead of Keeton Glenn at 15:15.

The Spartans will next compete at the Adidas XC Challenge, scheduled for next Friday, Sept. 15, in Cary, North Carolina.
