Women’s Track and Field Completes Second Event of 2013 at Hokie Invitational 01-25-2013
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The UNCG women's track and field team concluded day two of the Hokie Invitational at Virginia Tech Friday evening wrapping up its second event of the indoor track season. 

Freshman Lydia Saina (Eldoret, Kenya / Kapkenda Girls School) was the Spartans' top finisher of the second day at the Hokie Invitational earning a fourth place finish in the 5,000-meter race with a personal best time of 18:24.78 to finish behind Anne-Marie Blaney of UCF, who won the event in a time of 17:07.74. 

Classmate, Meredith Hicks (Raleigh, N.C. / Leesville Road) placed 10th in the race with a time of 21:30.28. 

Junior Shannon Hall (Waldorf, Md. / North Point) posted a time of 2:29.29 in the 800-meter run. She finished behind North Carolina's Elizabeth Whelan who finished in a time of 2:11.44. 

Sophomore Haley Wenos (Harrisonburg, Va. / Harrisonburg) finished with a time of 1:05.26 in the 400-meter race. 

The Spartans continue action at the Hilton Garden Invitational, in Winston-Salem, Feb. 1, beginning at noon.
