SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference on Tuesday announced postseason awards for men’s soccer, with UNC Greensboro’s Leeroy Maguraushe named a first-team All-SoCon selection and Jacob Planell named to the All-Freshman Team.

Maguraushe, a senior out of Milton Keynes, England, was named a first-team All-SoCon selection for the fourth year in a row. He becomes just the second Spartan to be named a first-team All-SoCon selection four straight years, joining Scott Jones who did so from 2003-06.

Maguraushe has appeared in 73 career games with 71 starts during his time with the Spartans so far, collecting 14 assists with 13 goals. He is the current conference leader in points scored, goals and assists and second in game-winning goals.

This season, Maguraushe received national attention for his game-winning goal against Elon in double overtime. For his efforts, Maguraushe was named SoCon Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career.

Planell, meanwhile, has been named to the All-Freshman team during a season in which he leads the Spartans in goals with five, including the game-winner against Wofford this past Saturday in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament.

Additionally, Planell scored the game-winning goal in an overtime victory over Campbell in September. His 11 points on the year also paces UNCG through 17 games.
