GREELEY, Colo. – The UNCG women’s tennis squad picked up its second win in the last three matches and third of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Northern Colorado by a 7-0 margin.

The Spartans snagged the first doubles match as the duo of Sophia Adams / Eugenia Camacho posted the 6-1 victory over Sarina Chhabra and Sandra Keta. UNCG’s No. 1 doubles team of Erika Barquero / Nancy Bridges followed with a 6-3 win over the pair of Anna Battersby / Raffa Mora, clinching the first point for the Spartans.

Northern Colorado (4-6) rebounded to claim the No. 2 doubles as Madeline Doherty / Synclair Larson came away with a 6-4 victory over Emily Ory / Brianna Gomez.

Gomez avenged the doubles setback by coming through with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Larson in singles play, pushing the UNCG lead to 2-0 in the process. Barquero followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Keta in the clash of No. 3 singles.

Bridges put together a dominating performance in No. 1 singles, downing Battersby by margins of 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the match for UNCG. The Spartans continued to collect wins in singles, moving the lead to 5-0 after Adams posted a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory over Mora.

Camacho grabbed her second win of the afternoon, following a doubles win, as she emerged 6-3, 6-2 over Chhabra. Ory closed out the match by claiming a 7-5, 6-3 win over Larson, allowing the Spartans to earn their third sweep of the season.

The Spartans remain in Colorado and head to Fort Collins to take on Colorado State on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
