GREENSBORO, N.C.– Former UNC Greensboro women’s basketball player Ije Ajemba has signed a pro contract with Widzew Lodz basketball team in the Poland Leaguem the club recently announced.

Ajemba played for Mersin Bsb Gelismi basketball team for one game in the Turkish League before signing with Widzew Lodz. In her one outing with Mersin Bsb Gelismi, she recorded 27 points and 19 rebounds in 39 minutes.

In her first game with Widzew Lodz, Ajemba recorded seven points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes.

In one season at UNCG, Ajemba made an immediate impact on the team setting the single-season rebounding record with 386.  She averaged 12.5 rebounds and 12.0 points with 32 blocks, which ranked eighth in a single season in school history along with 27 steals while shooting 43.9 (136-for-310) percent from the floor.

In Southern Conference play, Ajemba averaged 13.3 rebounds and 12.4 points, while shooting 40.3 (60-for-149) percent from the floor with 14 blocks and 13 steals.

Ajemba was named to the All-SoCon Second Team and to the SoCon First-Team All-Tournament Team after averaging 13.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games during the conference championship.
