SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG women’s soccer’s Cienna Rideout was named Southern Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Rideout helped the Spartans win both SoCon games last weekend with a pair of goals and five points.

Rideout headed in the game’s lone goal in the victory over Furman Friday in the 55th minute. She tied the game up in the 21st minute in the 6-2 win against Wofford and later assisted on Kaley Tucker’s goal.

This season Rideout leads the SoCon in points (2.27) and goals (1.00) per game and game-winning goals (five).

This is the third SoCon Player of the Week Award that UNCG has garnered this season. Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper earned the league’s first weekly award of the year, and Nicole Souply was selected on Sept. 11.

UNCG goes on the road this weekend to face Western Carolina Friday at 7 p.m. and ETSU Sunday at 2 p.m.
