GREENSBORO, N.C. – Katie Stettler delivered a walk-off single through the right side to give UNC Greensboro softball (30-21, 12-5) a 3-2 win in the rubber match against ETSU (20-25-2, 6-11) on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at UNCG Softball Stadium. The Spartans scored two unanswered runs in the last three innings to secure the win.
Delaney Cumbie led off the last inning with a walk and went to second base on a groundout to the pitcher by Stephanie Bryden. With the bases loaded with two outs following walks by Gabi Howard and Makenna Matthijs, Stettler ended the game with her RBI-hit.
UNCG tied up the game in the fifth inning. Marisa Sholtes was hit by a pitch and advanced to second base on a sac bunt by Bryden. With two outs, Matthijs knocked in Sholtes with an RBI-single to left field with two outs.
The Spartans produced the game’s first run in the first inning. Cumbie led off with a walk and went to second on a groundout by Sholtes. Bryden brought Cumbie home with an RBI-single to centerfield.
The Bucs scored their two runs with back-to-back homers to start the fourth inning.
The Spartans return to action with the Southern Conference Tournament next week. UNCG will be either the No. 1 or 2 seed depending on how Samford (10-4) fares in its series at Chattanooga. The Spartans will be the top seed if the Bulldogs win one or no games.

- Bryden (22-10) threw her 20th complete game, allowing two runs, nine hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
- With her 22nd victory of the year, Bryden moved ahead of Winn Hazlegrove (1994) and Erin Chandler (1996) for the sixth-most wins in a single-season.
- Recording three walks, Howard has the fourth-most walks in a season-season in school history with 36. Cumbie had a pair and tied Alex Emeterio (2009) for the 10th-most.
