GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro volleyball picked up a four-set victory over Chattanooga on Saturday evening, as the Spartans knocked off the Mocs 3-1 (18-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-13) in Fleming Gymnasium.
Three Things To Know
--The match was highlighted by the team’s annual Senior Day festivities, as Grace Howell, Emily Keilen, Megan Moran and Lauren Robeck were honored pre-match. Moran – who has not played this year due to injury – got on the court for an honorary first serve.
--With the victory, the Spartans have now won at least 10 matches 13 straight seasons.
--Junior Maria Esch nearly came away with a double-double on the night, as she finished the night with 15 digs and nine kills.
The Spartans will host their home regular season finale on Tuesday night when the Furman Paladins come to Greensboro. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The 2019 season is a special one for the program, as UNCG volleyball is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The program hosted a special celebration during the weekend of Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19. The weekend included a program history celebration luncheon and recognition of several distinguished alumni from the program’s past.2
