 LAWRENCE, Kan.  – Showing fight throughout the entire contest, UNC Greensboro men’s basketball (1-1) kept pace with one of the top teams in the country before falling to No. 3 Kansas 74-62 in Allen Fieldhouse on Friday night.  

The Spartans held the lead five times in the first half and entered the break down just four points at 36-32. The Jayhawks, however, stifled UNCG early in the second half before pulling away with the 12-point victory. While Kansas led by as much as 21 in the second half, UNCG remained competitive before collecting its first loss of the season.  

Three Things To Know
--After scoring a game-high 17 first half points, junior guard Isaiah Miller finished the game with 19 total points. The Covington, Ga., native added four rebounds and an assist. 

--For the second-straight game, sophomore guard Kaleb Hunter set a new career-high in rebounds as he grabbed 12 against Kansas. Hunter also registered 17 points for his first career double-double. 

--The game marked the second all-time meeting between UNCG and Kansas with the first matchup taking place in 2002.  

Up Next For The Spartans
UNCG will return to Greensboro to begin the Spartan Invitational on Monday night when the Spartans host Averett at the Greensboro Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
