GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro has announced today the hiring of April Albritton as Director of the Spartan Club. Albritton returns to her alma mater where she earned her BS in Exercise Sports Science with a concentration in Community Youth Sports Development in 2005. She also served as head manager for the men’s basketball team.
“This is a special homecoming weekend for April. We are excited to have her joining our team as the Spartan Club Director,” said Director of Athletics Kim Record. “April has a proven track record in both collegiate athletics and in fundraising. We are confident that she will lead our annual campaigns both for scholarships and specific team support and achieve our goals for supporting our student-athletes."
“I truly feel like I have come home,” Albritton said. “I began working in athletics as a student and got an incredible foundation to begin my professional career. I am always a Spartan, and now I have the opportunity to give back and build on our athletics and academic tradition to tell the UNC Greensboro story."
Albritton's athletics experience includes stints at Wake Forest, Davidson, University of Washington, College of Charleston and Stony Brook. She currently serves as a board member for Thomas Davis’ Defending the Dream program.
With Albritton's hire, Mike Roach has moved into the position of Major Gifts Officer while Craig Fink, Senior Associate AD for Advancement has accepted a similar position with the University of Nevada. The staff recently hired former volleyball standout Christina Gregory (2019) as Assistant Director of the Spartan Club.
