GREENSBORO, N.C. -  UNCG men's tennis collects 17 match wins at this year's Spartan Fall Invitational, competing in their second home tournament of the fall season, against Elon, Davidson and NC A&T.

UNCG's weekend opened up with a Saturday morning contest against Elon in singles play, where the hosting Spartans managed to take five of a possible seven matches from the Phoenix. Ollie Palmer, Nico Grewe and Alexander Zuckerman each completed their first contests in straight sets, with the former two Spartans competing in the first and third seeds respectively.

UNCG continued Saturday with a 4-4 split against Davidson, with the aforementioned Palmer, Grewe and Zuckerman each tallying their second wins of the weekend. Zuckerman completed his defeat of the Wildcat fourth seed by scores of 7-5 and 6-2, going on to combine with Roger Rogowski for a doubles win against NC A&T's top pairing later in the afternoon. The Spartans would sweep the Aggies 2-0 to close out day one, with Hugh Knapp and Jack Burkill winning their own doubles match by a final of 6-3.

Due to some inclement weather conditions, day two of the Spartan Fall Invitational took place indoors, where UNCG would once again open play against Elon, this time in doubles play. Knapp and Cooper Wyett would collect their team's lone win of that matchup with the Phoenix, dropping their opponent's third pairing 6-4.

The Spartans dropped four doubles matches against Davidson, before wrapping up the weekend with a 5-0 sweep of North Carolina A&T in singles. UNCG's top-four all finished their matches in straight sets, as Zuckerman's 6-4, 6-3 victory completed a weekend singles performance in which he did not surrender a single set.

Between doubles and singles play, Zuckerman picked up four wins in this weekend's events, and is yet to yield a singles match this fall season. Nico Grewe went a perfect 3-0 in his singles contests as well, while Knapp recorded a pair of singles wins and a pair of doubles wins.

The Spartans return to ITA Regionals next Friday, returning to the five-day tournament, taking place on Duke's campus in Durham this October.
