GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro volleyball freshman Gabriela McHugh has been named Southern Conference Setter of the Week, the league office announced.
In her first-ever collegiate action this past weekend in the Spartan-Demon Deacon Classic, the Ashley, Ind., native collected a team-high 108 assists as UNCG earned victories over North Carolina Central and Presbyterian.
McHugh started all three matches over the weekend including her debut against North Carolina Central. Through the first weekend of action, McHugh is one of only three players in the SoCon to have at least 100 assists.
The Spartans will next be in action this Friday and Saturday as they participate in the Maverick Classic in Arlington, Texas. On Friday night, UNCG will share the court with Southern before facing Incarnate Word and Texas-Arlington on Saturday.
