SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNC Greensboro volleyball has been picked to finish in sixth place in the 2019 Southern Conference preseason poll, the league has announced.
The Spartans earned a total of 32 votes, trailing Samford (63), Mercer (52), Furman (51), Wofford (40) and ETSU (33) in the poll. The complete poll is as follows:

The Spartans will begin the season on Friday, Aug. 30 against North Carolina Central at Fleming Gymnasium. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and is the first of three games taking place at UNCG during the Spartan Demon-Deacon Classic. UNCG will also be hosting Presbyterian and Wake Forest during the tournament.
UNCG will begin SoCon play on Friday, Sept. 27, when Western Carolina comes to Greensboro.
The 2019 SoCon Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C. The first-round match between the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds will be hosted by the No. 8 seed on either Monday, Nov. 18, or Tuesday, Nov. 19. The quarterfinal matches will be held Friday, Nov. 22, followed by the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 23. The final will take place on Sunday, Nov. 24.
