SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNC Greensboro men’s soccer has been picked to finish in fourth place in the 2019 Southern Conference preseason poll, the league has announced.
The Spartans earned a total of 20 votes, trailing on Mercer (35), Furman (31) and ETSU (27) in the poll. The complete poll is as follows:

The Spartans have made the SoCon Men’s Soccer Championship final each of the last two years while the program has won six tournament titles since moving to the SoCon.
UNCG will begin the regular season on Friday, Aug. 30 in a home contest against George Washington. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The Spartans’ first conference game will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 against VMI.
The SoCon Men’s Soccer Championship debuts a new format in 2019, with no predetermined sites. The first-round game between the Nos. 6 and 7 seeds will be played at the No. 6 seed on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The Nos. 1 and 2 seeds will host the quarterfinals and semifinals the following weekend, with the highest remaining seed hosting the title match on Saturday, Nov. 16, or Sunday, Nov. 17.
