GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro student-athletes Stephanie Bryden and Jasmine Palmer of the softball team, Alexis Pitchford of women’s basketball and Ny Juan Williams of the track team will attend the prestigious NCAA Career in Sports forum this week in Indianapolis.

The Career in Sports Forum, an annual educational forum hosted by the NCAA, brings together 200 student-athletes to learn and explore potential careers in sports, with the primary focus on college athletics.

Bryden, who recently graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, was named a 2019 SoCon First Team All-SoCon selection. For her career with the Spartans, the Orlando, Fla., native appeared in 110 games.

“I’m honored to have been accepted and am very excited to attend,” Bryden said. “I think it will be an unforgettable experience and I can’t wait to see what I gain from it.”

Palmer, a rising redshirt senior, has started all 124 of her appearances for the Spartans. In 2018, she was a CoSIDA Academic All-District III selection. On the diamond, she has twice earned All-SoCon honors.

Pitchford is also a rising senior for the women’s basketball team, as the Orlando, Fla., native has started nearly 80 games during her time at UNCG to date. She is majoring in Media Studies.

“Its an honor to be accepted,” Pitchford said. “I never had aspirations of being a coach or athletic director, but I did know that I wanted to work in college athletics. Without Jen LePore referencing the conference to my team, I would have missed out on a great opportunity to connect with future employers or colleagues.”

Williams, meanwhile, graduated this spring with a degree in Kinesiology.
