All fans are encouraged to come out and celebrate the Spartans’ historic season with the student-athletes, coaches and staff.
The event will feature a three-course dinner and is open to the public. Tickets are $30 for adults and tickets for children 12 and under are $15. This season, UNCG finished with a program-record 29 victories en route to earning the No. 1-overall seed in the National Invitation Tournament, where the Spartans would defeat Campbell in the first round for the school’s first postseason victory. During the regular season, the Spartans won 26 games – also the most in program history – and stretched a school-best 17-game home winning streak from late last season into this past January. UNCG also reached the 20-win mark before the month of February for the first time in the 52-year history of the program.
The event is the final chance to honor UNCG’s winningest senior class in program history of Francis Alonso, Demetrius Troy and Lloyd Burgess. During the last four seasons, the trio helped lead UNCG to 96 victories along with the program’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 17 years last year. In total, they combined for more than 3,150 points as well. Additionally, thanks to their on-court contributions UNCG won at least 20 games three straight seasons for the first time.
