GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro baseball head coach Link Jarrett will speak at the American Baseball Coaches Association National Convention Friday in Dallas, Texas.
Jarrett, who is entering his seventh year at UNCG, is one of 16 Division I head coaches that will serve on a panel evaluating college baseball recruiting calendars. The meeting takes place Thursday in Dallas.
At UNCG, Jarrett was named SoCon Head Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2018 and the Spartans have set 29 program records and six individual records under his leadership. Jarrett’s teams have also led the NCAA in 10 statistical categories.
Additionally, his teams have won the conference batting titles in nine of the last 11 seasons, including five at UNCG, and have made six appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
Jarrett has coached 28 All-SoCon players and eight All-Amercians at UNCG. Jarrett has also had at least one player drafted in the Major League Baseball in all six years and has had 16 players drafted during his tenure at UNCG.
Jarrett also coached Matt Frisbee, who was named the 2018 SoCon Pitcher of the Year, Andrew Mortiz, who was named the 2018 SoCon Player of the Year and Andrew Wantz, who was named the 2016 SoCon Pitcher of the Year.
The Spartans begin the 2-19 season with a three-game series against Quinnipiac from Feb. 15-17 at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
The ABCA Convention is the word's largest gathering of baseball coaches and this year it's held in Dallas, Texas from Jan. 3-6 for the 75th annual convention. The event features clinics, the ABCA Trade Show, Youth Coaches Session, Expo Theater, meetings, award celebrations and other events.
