GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s basketball (3-4) hosts Lees-McRae Thursday at 7 p.m. in Fleming Gymnasium in the middle of two separate road trips.

The Spartans finished a two-game road trip to Campbell and High Point and starts another one with two trips to the Triangle next week.

Five Facts to Know

-The Spartans lead the SoCon in field-goal percentage defense, rebound margin, scoring defense, scoring margin, steals per game, three-point field goals defense, turnover margin and turnovers forced

-Junior guard Nadine Soliman leads the SoCon and ranks 31st in the NCAA with 20.1 points per game

-The Spartans are 3-3 in the 10-game streak of games played in the state of North Carolina

-UNCG leads the series 1-0 against Lees-McRae

-Soliman ranks 15th in school history with 1,127 points and needs 100 points to enter the top 10.

The Spartans lost a close one on the road to High Point last Saturday, 82-75.  The 82 points given up was a season-high by the Spartans and have lost by a combined 21 points in the four losses this season.  Four Spartans scored at least 14 points against the Panthers with Soliman leading the way with 21 points. 

Soliman leads the team with 20.1 points per game, which leads the Southern Conference and ranks 31st in the NCAA, and averages 8.0 rebounds, which leads the SoCon, 2.4 steals and 2.0 assists per game, while junior forward Te’ja Twitty averages 17.2 points and leads the team with 8.8 rebounds and sophomore forward Aja Boyd averages 9.9 points and 7.3 rebounds.

The Spartans lead the SoCon in field goal percentage defense (34.3 percent), which ranks 38th in the NCAA, rebounding margin (3.4), scoring defense (51.0), which ranks eighth in the country, scoring margin (17.3), which ranks 42nd, steals per game (10.6), which ranks 50th in the NCAA, three-point field goal defense (22.5 percent), which ranks 11th in the country, turnover margin (7.71), which ranks 16th in the NCAA, and turnovers forced (23.14), which ranks 22nd in the country.

Series History

UNCG won the only meeting in the series with a 78-62 win last season on Dec. 31 in Fleming Gymnasium.
