GREENSBORO, N.C.- UNC Greensboro’s men’s golf team sits in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, which is taking place this weekend at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.

UNCG shot a two-over 290 in the first round to sit in eighth place, 10 strokes behind Campbell. In the second round, however, the Spartans were one of the biggest climber, shooting a 277 to gain four spots on the leaderboard. They enter the final round at nine-under.
Junior Jonathan Brightwell led UNCG in the first round, as he shot a two-under 70, registering four birdies against two bogies on the round. Then in the second round, Brightwell shot a four-under on the front nine before finishing the round at six-under.
He is currently leading the tournament at eight-under.
Sophomore Zack Swanson, who is participating in individual play, also finished the first round under par, as he shot a one-under 71. Despite starting the round with a boogey on the 16th hole, Swanson tallied four birdies on the front nine. He also shot a two-under 70 in the second round.
Sophomore Nick Lyerly and senior Bryce Hendrix, meanwhile, each shot one-over 73 in the first round. In the second round, Hendrix was one-under 71 and Lyerly was five-under 67 and now sits tied for seventh place. Lyerly currently is tied for seventh place.
As for sophomore Justin Emmons, the Climax, N.C., native finished the first round at two-over 74 and the second round at two-over 74 as well.
Junior Grant Powell is tied for 68th place after shooting a 150 through the first two rounds.
