GREENSBORO, N.C.- UNC Greensboro’s men’s golf team on Sunday shot a 608 in the first two rounds of the Windon Memorial Classic at Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Ill., and currently sit in 16th place. Live stats for Monday’s third and final round will be available both days via GolfStat.com.
UNCG shot a 305 in the first round before improving in the second round with a team-score of 303.
Junior Jonathan Brightwell led UNCG in the first round, as he shot a one-over 73. Brightwell birdied holes No. 3, 6 and 13 to counter two bogies and one double-bogey. In the second round, Brightwell continued his solid play as he shot a two-over 74. He is currently tied for 37th place.
Sophomore Nick Lyerly and senior Bryce Hendrix, meanwhile, are tied for 62nd place at eight-over 152 through the first two rounds. In the second round, Hendrix was an even 36 on the back nine, as the Greenville, N.C., native recorded four birdies.
The Spartans are participating in a field that includes the likes of Army, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Iowa State, Marquette, Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, South Florida, Southern Illinois, UC Davis, and UCLA.
