GREENSBORO, N.C. – The postseason honors keep rolling in for the 2018 UNCG baseball team. Juniors Andrew Moritz and Matt Frisbee were named First Team All-Atlantic Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Wednesday morning. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America Committee. The First Team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors that will be announced Saturday, June 16th.

Moritz adds to his summer of accolades, having earned Third Team All-America honors by Baseball America and Perfect Game/Rawlings, Second Team Google Cloud Academic All-America, SoCon Player of the Year, First Team All-Southern Conference and All-SoCon Tournament honors, as well as being a sixth round draft pick of the Atlanta Braves. Moritz set single season school records for batting average (.428) and triples (10), as well as leading the Spartan offense in runs scored (57), RBI (61) and on-base percentage (.492).

Frisbee, a 15th round pick of the San Francisco Giants during last week’s MLB Draft, was also named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region. Frisbee started 15 games for UNCG this season, going 10-2 with a 3.45 ERA, earning the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year award and was a Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball. Frisbee led UNCG and the SoCon in wins, ranking 10th in the country. The right-hander led UNCG in complete games (one), innings pitched (91.1) and strikeouts (116). His strikeout total ranks second in a single-season all-time at UNCG, and he was 24th in the nation in that category.
