GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG Softball will host a Hitting & Defensive Clinic Jan. 27 that will focus on fine-tuning and improving upon players’ skills. The clinic is geared toward anyone from second to 12th grade. All players will have the opportunity to work alongside the UNCG Coaching staff and current student-athletes.
The defensive portion begins and 10 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. It will cover specific fundamentals and drills relating to correct throwing mechanics, glove work, footwork and game strategy. Pitchers and catchers will focus on learning their role in the ‘battery’ with drills and techniques to improve each of their respective roles.
The hitting portion of the clinic is schedule from 2-5 p.m. and is designed to improve players’ offensive game with the focus of proper and efficient, mental preparation, timing and pitch recognition.
Players are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Water will be provided.
Both the Defensive Clinic and Hitting Clinic cost $70 per person but a special price of $125 for attending both clinics is offered.
