GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men’s soccer team is riding a five-game unbeaten streak heading into Tuesday night’s Southern Conference matchup against Wofford. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the UNCG Soccer Stadium and Admission is FREE! The game will be broadcast on the SoCon Digital Network with links available at www.uncgspartans.com.

The Spartans enter Tuesday’s game with a 4-4-2 overall record and a 1-0-1 mark in SoCon play. UNCG is 4-0-1 in its last five games with all five decisions coming by shutout. The Spartans carry a shutout streak of 532:65 into the game, having not allowed a goal since Sept. 9, almost nine hours of shutout soccer. UNCG is coming off a 2-0 victory over No. 21 Furman Saturday night at home as junior midfielder Leeroy Maguraushe (Milton Keynes, England) and sophomore forward Faisal Almubaslat (Summerfield, N.C./Northwest Guilford) scored goals in the win.

The Spartans have scored eight goals in 10 games while holding opponents to just seven goals against. Maguraushe leads the team with five points on the strength of two goals and an assist. Junior forward Matt Mattis (Little Stoke, England) is second on the team with two goals while freshman midfielder Nelson Oceano (Berlin, Germany) has a goal and an assist.

Junior goalkeeper Jon Milligan (Mount Pleasant, S.C./Wando) has played every minute in goal this season for the Spartans. Milligan leads the SoCon with a 0.67 goals against average, six shutouts and an .829 save percentage while ranking second in the league with 34 saves. In his career, Milligan is 11-5-6 overall with 10 shutouts and a 0.75 goals against average.

Tuesday’s game marks the 29th meeting all-time between UNCG and Wofford. The Spartans hold a 22-5-1 record against the Terriers, including winning three out of the last four meetings. Last year, the teams split the regular season series with the road team each notching a win. UNCG posted a 2-1 overtime victory over the Terriers in Spartanburg with Mattis scoring the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute of play. Wofford turned the tables on UNCG in Greensboro, posting a 1-0 victory as Dredon Kelly scored the game’s lone goal in the 72nd minute of action.

Wofford enters Tuesday’s game with an 0-10-0 mark on the year and a 0-2-0 record in SoCon play. The Terriers have dropped two league games at home to Mercer (3-1) and ETSU (3-2). Wofford has scored just six goals in 10 games while allowing 23 goals against. Six different Terriers have scored goals with Lucas Altman leading the way with a goal and an assist.

Wofford has used three different goalkeepers this season with Matthew Reynolds playing the most at 577:26. Reynolds owns a 3.12 goals against average with a .535 save percentage. Hunter Wages has played 334:50 in goal and owns a 2.42 goals against average with a .625 save percentage.
