GREENSBORO, N.C. – Former UNCG men's golf head coach and longtime administrator Harold “Bud” Hall, 74, passed away June 5, 2017 on Oak Island, N.C. Hall was head coach of the Spartans from 1987-99, leading the golf program into the NCAA Division I era.

“Coach Hall was a good friend and he built the foundation of the UNCG men's golf program that we have right now,” head coach Terrance Stewart said.

Hall, born December 2, 1942, was a two-time Big South Coach of the Year winner during his career leading the Spartans. He won the award in both 1995 and 1996 when he led the Spartans to back-to-back Big South Conference Tournament Championships, the only two Big South titles in program history. Additionally, he led Michael Way to the individual title in 1996 at the Big South Championships.
