GREENSBORO, N.C. – In the final tune-up before Southern Conference action kicks off this weekend, UNCG will host Marshall Tuesday in a single game before heading to Boone, North Carolina on Wednesday for a doubleheader with Appalachian State.

Tuesday’s game will be streamed live via YouTube, while Wednesday’s action will be available for viewing via App State TV. Links to all live coverage options are available at UNCGSpartans.com.

UNCG currently leads the SoCon with a 16-11 record after going 2-2 last week. The Spartans defeated North Carolina A&T 10-3 on Thursday prior to registering a 1-2 record in a three game series with Elon over the weekend.

Jasmine Palmer (Lake Biltmore, N.C./Florida State) was on top of her game against the Phoenix, posting a .667 batting average and an astronomical 2.333 slugging percentage. Palmer really laid the lumber in the doubleheader split with Elon on Saturday, homering three times, including a walk-off shot in the early game.

Marshall is one of the hottest teams in the nation, entering Tuesday’s matchup riding an 11-game winning streak. The Thundering Herd are 20-4 overall on the season, with two of those losses coming to top-ranked Florida State.

The Thundering Herd have three players batting over .400, led by Elicia D’Orazio, who’s .472 batting average is the 21st highest in the nation. Once on base D’Orazio is a menace, leading the country with 1.29 stolen bases per game. As a team Marshall steals 3.92 bases per game, the most in Division I. Jordan Dixon has made 20 appearances in the circle, posting a 2.57 ERA and boasting a 14-4 record.

Appalachian State maintains an 11-12 record, having been swept in a three game road series by Texas State over the weekend.  The Mountaineers have lost each of their last four contests.

App State is batting .259 as a unit, led by Alisha Josey’s .357 batting average. Kara Parker has belted a team-high five home runs and leads the Mountaineers with 11 RBIs. Vanessa Ciocatto has appeared 12 times in the circle, tallying a 1.62 ERA.
