Chris LePore is in his fifth season on head coach Wes Miller's staff in 2018-19. He joined the staff as a graduate assistant and was quickly moved up the ranks into an assistant coach role.
LePore helped the Spartans reach unprecedented levels of success during the 2017-18 season, as UNCG won a program-record 27 games concluding with a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 17 years. The Spartans won the SoCon regular season title for the second consecutive season before defeating ETSU in the SoCon Tournament final.
Heavily involved in recruiting and player development, LePore has been hands on with All-SoCon performers Kayel Locke, Diante Baldwin, RJ White, Demetrius Troy, Francis Alonso, James Dickey III and Isaiah Miller.
Prior to UNCG, LePore spent two seasons as a student manager for the Belmont men's basketball program. At Belmont, LePore worked hands-on with three All-Americans: NBA champion Ian Clark (2017 Golden State Warriors), JJ Mann and Evan Bradds. Belmont appeared in the NCAA Tournament and the NIT in his two seasons with the program.
LePore also spent two seasons as the assistant varsity boys basketball coach for Centennial High School in Franklin, Tenn., while serving as the head JV and freshman coach. LePore earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Belmont in journalism/secondary education in 2014. He finished up his Masters of Arts in liberal studies at UNCG in 2016.
LePore married the former Jennifer Robbins in September of 2016. Their first son, Julius, was born in January of 2018.
