GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG’s head softball coach Janelle Breneman announced the addition of Danielle Bieberle. Bieberle joins Kylie Bouplon, Jordan Gontram, Kayleigh Willis and Stephanie Boyd as the fifth member of the 2016 signing class.
"Danielle will add speed to our outfield and our 2016 class," said Breneman. "Danielle Is a left handed slapper and has quickness to challenge the defense in many ways. I have seen Danielle cover a lot of ground in the outfield she gets great reads and and her quickness is an asset."
Bieberle, a 5-foot-5 outfielder from Auburndale, Fla., inked her NLI this week. An All-State and All-League selection while at Auburndale Senior High School, she hit .469 as a junior and helped her team to a 13-10-1 record as a senior. The Bloodhounds won the 2013-14 District Championship her sophomore year.
She played travel ball under head coach Tony Genovese for two years with Carolina Elite out of Greenville, S.C., where she played center field.
The Spartans will return 14 players for 2017 but lose six seniors to graduation including all-time hits and home runs leader, Lindsay Thomas (Irvine, Calif./Northwood).
