SENIOR (2018): Redshirted due to UCL injury and Tommy John surgery. 

JUNIOR (2017): Made 16 appearances, earning a 1-0 record with seven saves while working as the closer … Recorded a strikeout in all 16 appearances… Worked in 20.2 innings, striking out 24 hitters… Allowed seven extra base hits without allowing a home run… Worked 2.1 scoreless innings in the opening series at South Carolina (Feb. 18)… Worked 2.0 innings against Michigan State (Feb. 26), striking out a batter and earning his first save of the season… Notched another save after tossing 2.0 innings with a strikeout helping UNCG defeat Maryland Eastern Shore, 4-2 (Mar. 4)… Earned another save after striking out the side against Lafayette in the nightcap of a doubleheader (Mar. 17)… Struck out the one batter he faced against Lafayette to earn his fourth save of the season (Mar. 18)… Worked a scoreless frame to earn his fifth save of the season against North Carolina A&T (Mar. 22)… Preserved a 5-4 win over Western Carolina (Mar. 24) with another strikeout to earn his sixth save of the season… Notched his seventh save after throwing 0.2 innings without giving up a hit and striking out a batter in a 9-7 victory… Earned his win in 3.0 innings of work as UNCG earned a 7-6 victory in extra innings over Furman (Apr. 8).

SOPHOMORE (2016): Appeared in 27 games earning a team-best 2.52 Earned Run Average… The ERA is good for ninth-best in single season history… Earned SoCon Pitcher of the Month honors in March… Earned a 5-2 record and tied for a team-best four saves… Struck out 60 batters on the year… Held opponents to a .181 average against while only surrendering eight extra-base hits in 50.0 innings pitched… Recorded a strikeout in 24 of 27 appearances including at least one strikeout in 22-straight appearances to end the season… Recorded multiple strikeouts in 18 appearances… Threw in multiple innings in 16 appearances… Earned a career-best nine strikeouts against Wofford (May 26) earning the win in the SoCon Tournament in a season-high 5.0 innings of relief… Went 3.2 innings against Furman (Apr. 16) and Western Carolina (May 15) earning a save and a win, respectively… Made six-straight relief appearances without allowing a run or a hit (Mar. 11-Mar. 25)… 13 scoreless appearances… Appeared in nine regular season conference games… Struck out four batters against VMI (Apr. 2) and Furman (Apr. 16).

FRESHMAN (2015): Made 14 appearances on the mound and started six games … Worked his way into the weekend rotation in the latter part of the season as the Spartans' Sunday starter … Compiled a 1-0 record with a 6.89 earned run average … Tallied 31 strikeouts in 32.2 innings pitched … Held opposing batters to a .231 average … Named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week May 4 … Made his collegiate debut against High Point (Feb. 13) … Recorded his first collegiate win pitching a career-high six innings in the series finale against Wofford (May 3) and holding the Terriers to just one run on four hits with a personal-best eight strikeouts in the 14-7 victory … Tossed four scoreless innings against Elon (April 21) and fanned four batters … Threw an inning in UNCG's 10-0 victory over North Carolina A&T (March 24) at NewBridge Bank Park in downtown Greensboro … Notched four strikeouts on three occasions – against Wake Forest (April 8), against Elon (April 21) and at Gardner-Webb (May 15).

PREP: Named 2014 preseason Honorable Mention All-America by Perfect Game … Earned first-team all-state, first-team all-conference, conference player of the year and team MVP accolades the last two seasons … Added team defensive MVP honors as a sophomore … In 2012, helped lead the Vikings to a conference title, sectional championship, regional crown and a state runner-up finish … Voyager repeated as conference and sectional champion in 2013 and came in second in the region … On the bump as a junior, Sykes was 6-1, threw 49.3 innings and struck out 72 batters against just 14 walks and did not give up a home run … Also hit .410 with an on base percentage of .535 and posted 21 RBI and 17 stolen bases … His junior season, he hit .451 with a slugging percentage of .686 and an on base mark of .556 while tallying 23 hits, 24 runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two home runs and 10 stolen bases … Competed the last two seasons for the Dirtbags showcase team under head coach Andy Partin.
