GREENSBORO, N.C.  – UNCG women's basketball looks for its third straight win this Tuesday, hosting this season's annual 'Education Day' against Erskine College, inside Fleming Gymnasium. The Spartans have held their last two opponents to an average of 50.5 points scored, while giving up a conference-best 59.8 points per game on the season.

Series History

-- This will be the first time that the Spartans will be facing Erskine College, but the program is 7-0 against current members of the Conference Carolinas all-time

-- A win over Erskine would put UNCG at 4-2 on the season, an additional victory over UNC Asheville later in the week would tie the Spartans' best seven-game start of the past 28 years

-- Senior guard Nadine Soliman dropped a season-high 27 points against Liberty last Thursday, she's scored a combined 41 points in her last two contests against the Flames 

-- Soliman's 7.4 defensive boards per game currently ranks second in the SoCon and 28th in all of Division I basketball

-- Allowing an average of 59.8 points per game, the Spartans currently have the strongest scoring defense in the entire Southern Conference

-- The Spartans held visiting Maryland Eastern Shore to just 48 points the prior Sunday, their 38-point margin of victory was their biggest against a Division I opponent since beating NC Central 103-56 back on December 31, 2015

-- Aja Boyd's .591 field goal percentage currently leads the Southern Conference, while her 8.2 rebounds per game rank second

-- Senior center Alexis Scott currently leads Erskine with 7.0 defensive rebounds per contest, ranking 42nd in all of Division II women's basketball

-- The Flying Fleet is yet to win a game in the 2019-20 season, and is averaging 52.0 points scored per contest

The Spartans return to the road later in the week, taking on UNC Asheville at Kimmell Arena this Friday at 6 p.m. UNCG is 14-3 against the Bulldogs all-time but dropped their last meeting with UNCA 77-63, back during the 2016-17 season.
