EARLYSVILLE, Va. – Competing in the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional, hosted by the University of Virginia, UNC Greensboro women’s cross country finished in 22ndplace while the men’s team finished in 24thplace.
Leading the Spartans in the women’s 6K was junior Kassidy Dill, as her time of 22:03.7 placed her in 88thplace. Seniors Kaitlyn Stone (93rd; 22:06.9) and Taylor Delaney (95th; 22:10.7) also finished in the top 100 of a field that featured 261 competitors.
Sophomore Chandler McCaslin, meanwhile, completed the race in 23:07.2 to finish in 176thplace while sophomore Kathryn Anderson ended the day with a time of 23:33.1 to finish in 197thplace.
In the men’s 10K, junior Alex Roy once again paced the Spartans, as he finished the race at 31:48.5 to finish in 75thplace. Next across the finish line for UNCG was freshman Michael Zapherson, who finished in 149thplace with a time of 33:11.0.
Shortly after Zapherson finished, sophomores Dylan Christopher (151st; 33:12.) and Dalton Miles (152nd, 33:13.5) completed the race. Fellow sophomore Thomas Knepshield (176th; 33:47.2) and senior Trelek Jones (186th; 34:01.1) rounded out the completion of the race for the Spartans.
