RALEIGH, N.C. – UNC Greensboro men’s golf will enter the third round of the 2019 Wolfpack Intercollegiate in third place, after the Spartans on Saturday collected a 564 (290-274) in the first two rounds of play. The Spartans remain within striking distance of the lead, trailing leaders Campbell by six strokes and second-place NC State by just two strokes. 

UNCG is once again being led by senior Jonathan Brightwell (68-64), as the reigning Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month currently leads the field at 11-under par. He carded a four-under 68 in the first round before sealing up the second round at eight-under 64. In the second round, the Charlotte native birdied nine times. 

He is currently four strokes ahead of the field. 

Junior Nick Lyerly (76-68) began the tournament at four-over 76 in the first round before finishing the second round at four-under 68. He is currently tied for 22ndplace. 

Junior Justin Emmons (74-72) closed out the first round at two-over before finishing the second round at even-par 72 and is tied for 35thplace. 

Junior Zack Swanson (72-75) and freshman Jack Marcotte (77-70) are among four participants tied for 41stplace.  

Representing the Spartans in individual play this weekend are freshmen Noah Connor (76-76) and Symon Balbin (80-78). Connor is tied for 67thplace while Balbin is tied for 83rdplace.
