STANFORD, Calif. – UNC Greensboro men’s golf (275-286-297) completed the 2019 NCAA Stanford Regional in 11th place after shooting a 297 in the third round.
Sophomore Nick Lyerly (68-72-72) finished the tournament at two-over par to lead the Spartans, as the Salisbury, N.C., native finished Wednesday’s action at two-over 72. He birdied three times on the day.
Fellow sophomore Zack Swanson (71-69-75) wrapped up his first season with the Spartans by carding a five-over 75 in the third round.
Junior Jonathan Brightwell (67-73-77) completed the third round at seven-over 77, as he birdied two times on the day against five bogeys and two double-bogeys.
Senior Bryce Hendrix (69-72-76) capped off his collegiate career by carding a six-over 76. He birdied the first hole of the day.
Junior Grant Powell (75-75-74) posted his best round of the tournament at four-over 74. The Colfax, N.C., native recorded a team-best four birdies during the round including the 18th hole.
UNCG this season tallied a program-record four tournament victories, surpassing the previous mark of three set during the 1994-95 season. Additionally, the Spartans won the Southern Conference Tournament for a second-straight year.
