GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s basketball (3-2) looks to continue its winning streak when it takes a trip to to Buies Creek, N.C., to face Campbell (5-1) Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Five Facts to Know

-The Spartans lead the SoCon in fewest turnovers, field goal percentage, rebound margin, scoring defense, scoring margin, steals per game, three-point field goals defense, turnover margin and turnovers forced.

-Junior guard Nadine Soliman leads the SoCon and ranks 16th in the NCAA with 21.8 points per game.

-The Spartans are 3-1 in the current 10-game streak of games played in the state of North Carolina.

-UNCG leads the all-time series 11-2.

-Te’ja Twitty needs two rebounds to reach her 500th career rebound.

The Spartans defeated UNC Pembroke 72-32 for its second consecutive win and fourth consecutive home win in Fleming Gymnasium dating back to last season. 

Soliman leads the team with 21.8 points per game, which also is the best average in the Southern Conference and ranks 16th in the NCAA overall, and averages 8.8 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.2 assists per game, while Twitty averages 16.7 points and 8.0 rebounds and sophomore forward Aja Boyd averages 12.2 points and 8.2 rebounds.

The Spartans lead the SoCon in fewest turnovers (69), which ranks 51st in the NCAA, field goal percentage defense (30.7 percent), which ranks 12th in the NCAA, rebounding margin (15.2), which ranks 52nd in the NCAA, rebounds per game (41.4), scoring defense (44.4), which ranks third in the country, scoring margin (26.4), which ranks 17th, scoring offense (70.8), steals per game (11.4), which ranks 44th in the NCAA, three-point field goal defense (19.5 percent), which ranks 11th in the country, turnover margin (11.4), which ranks sixth in the NCAA, and turnovers forced (25.2), which ranks 13th in the NCAA.

UNCG leads the series 11-2, but Campbell won the last meeting, 72-61, on Nov. 25, 2017.

After starting the season with a loss to Old Dominion, Campbell has won five consecutive games. The Camels are led by Kyra Davis at 10.0 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game, Lauren Carter with 9.0 points per game and Taya Bolden with 8.0 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game.


The Spartans finish the two-game road trip to face High Point Saturday at 5 p.m., before returning home to face Lees-McRae Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in Fleming Gymnasium.
