SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG women’s soccer forward Nicole Souply was named Southern Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Souply scored both game-winnings goals in the Spartans’ two wins last week.
Souply scored the first goal, the first of her collegiate career, in the 4-0 home victory over Triad-rival High Point on Labor Day. She broke a 1-1 tie Friday night at Davidson with a goal in the 52nd minute.
This is the second SoCon Player of the Week Award that UNCG has garnered this season. Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper earned the league’s first weekly award of the year.
UNCG will welcome No. 17 NC State to Greensboro Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the last home nonconference game of the season.
