GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men’s golf head coach Terrance Stewart announced the addition of transfer Zack Swanson on Tuesday. Swanson, who spent this past season at Charlotte, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining and be eligible immediately.

“We are thrilled to have Zack join our family,” said Stewart. “He is an excellent student and player who will compete for the starting lineup.”

During the fall of the 2017, Swanson competed in four tournaments with a 75.25 stroke average. With each tournament loaded with top-50 teams, his best finish was a 54th place finish in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate. He notched an 11-over-par 224 (74-74-76) in his collegiate debut at the Gopher Invitational.

Swanson was a two-time All-NCHSAA 3A selection at Marvin Ridge High School and helped the Mavericks win their first-ever state championship in 2017. The team captain received the Farm Bureau Sportsman of the Year award at the state championship and won the 2015 Conference Player of the Year Award. He finished tied for fourth in the Carolinian Amateur this summer and in the top-ten of the 2016 Carolinas Junior.
