GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men’s soccer head coach Justin Maullin has announced the 2018 fall schedule Friday afternoon. This year’s slate will feature 17 regular season matches, nine at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. There will be a pair of exhibition matches played at home before the regular season starts. Of the 17 opponents, five played in the NCAA College Cup Tournament last year.

The season kicks off August 14th with an exhibition match with Montreat College before the final exhibition against Coastal Carolina on the 20th, each at the UNCG Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

The regular season gets started August 24th in South Carolina, as the Spartans will take on the Presbyterian Blue Hose at 7 p.m. in Clinton before staying on the road for a matchup with Longwood in Farmville, Virginia on August 28th.

Sept. 1st marks the home opener as the Spartans will welcome in the Davidson Wildcats at 7 p.m. before hosting the High Point Panthers on the 4th at 7 p.m.

The Spartans will head to the lone star state for a matchup with the Western Athletic Conference’s UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday, Sept. 8th at 7 p.m. before returning home.

UNCG follow with a three-game home stand, welcoming a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. UNCG will host Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11th and Elon on Sept. 15th. The Spartans will host the North Carolina Tar Heels on Sept. 18th at 7 p.m. at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. The Tar Heels coming one match away from playing for a national title in 2017.

The Spartans hit the road for a matchup with former SoCon-foe Appalachian State for a 7 p.m. matchup in Boone on Sept. 22nd before coming home to face the Campbell Fighting Camels on Sept. 25th. The nonconference portion of the schedule will wrap up with another 2017 College Cup Participant, taking on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2nd.

The Southern Conference season kicks off with the newest member of the SoCon, the Belmont Bruins. The Spartans will host Belmont on Saturday, Oct. 6th at 7 p.m. The next SoCon matchup will see UNCG head to Spartanburg for a matchup with the Wofford Terriers on Tuesday, Oct. 9th at 7 p.m.

UNCG will host last year’s SoCon Regular Season Champion, the ETSU Bucs on Saturday, Oct. 13th at 7 p.m. for the homecoming match.

The Spartans will be on the road for the next two matches, taking on the VMI Keydets on Oct. 16th and heading down to Macon, Georgia for a matchup with last year’s SoCon Tournament Champion, Mercer at 7 p.m. on Oct. 20th.

The regular season will wrap up on senior night, Oct. 27th, as UNCG will face the Furman Paladins at 7 p.m.

The Southern Conference Tournament will begin on Nov. 3rd for the quarterfinal round, held at campus sites. The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be held in Johnson City, Tennessee, hosted by ETSU. Winner of the SoCon Tournament clinches the SoCon’s automatic bid into the College Cup Tournament.
