Hoch graduated from ECU with a bachelor’s degree in in interpersonal communication. In her senior season at ECU, she served as the women’s tennis team liaison for the ECU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. As the volunteer assistant last season, she worked with Tom Morris, a North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame member, and East Carolina’s all-time winningest women’s coach. There she helped coach Morris run daily practices, string racquets and assisted with the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the Pirate women’s tennis program.

Athletically Hoch earned two varsity letters at East Carolina, prior to that she played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin. In her final season in Greenville, Hoch led the Pirates with a 21-7 overall record, including a 16-3 mark in dual matches. She finished her career on a six-match wining streak and owned an 11-3 record at No. 5 singles. As a junior, Hoch tallied a team-best 13 win and went 10-5 in dual matches. Posted a 13-7 doubles record.

Coming out of high school, Hoch was a five-star recruit according to the Tennis Recruiting Network, ranking as high as No. 70 nationally in her recruiting class. She played junior tennis at Heritage Academy at Hilton Head Island (S.C.) under head coach Jolenee Wantanbe-Glitz. As a freshman, she won a national doubles title and only lost one doubles match as a sophomore. She reached the sectional tournament as a junior before making the finals of a Southern Level Three Tournament as a senior.

While attending ECU, she worked at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis, serving as the tennis pro during the summers of 2013 and 2014.
