Graduate Manager
Experience: 2 Years

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG head coach Trina Patterson has announced the addition of Noelle Cobb to the women’s basketball staff as a graduate manager. Cobb, who recently received her bachelor’s degree from the University of La Verne in La Verne, California, will begin classes at UNCG this fall.

“I am excited to have Noelle join our basketball staff,” said Patterson. “She comes highly recommended as a very motivated, enthusiastic, and hard working student-athlete. We look forward to having her assist our coaching staff, director of operations and athletes with all aspects of program.”

Cobb will join Ka’lia Johnson, who enters her second year as a graduate manager at UNCG following her playing career at Duke University. The duo will assist with film editing, community service projects and other assigned duties.

Following a junior college career at Fullerton College, Cobb started 41 games over two seasons at La Verne, becoming a team captain. The 5-8 forward averaged 11.5 points per game and 4.7 rebounds as a junior before ramping up her numbers to 12.5 PPG and 5.4 RPG during her senior campaign.

Cobb is a graduate of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s “So You Want to Be a Coach” Program, held in conjunction with the WBCA National Convention in Dallas, Texas. During the three-day workshop, she was taught about recruiting, the administrative side to coaching, how to get hired, skill development, the importance of knowing the rules, and how to balance work and life.

Cobb honed her coaching skills at the Byron Scott Basketball Camp in both 2015 and 2016. During the camp she taught young children the fundamentals of the game while conducting practices and team drills, leading her group to an undefeated record for the week.

In the fall of 2015 and spring of 2016, Cobb volunteered at the Grace Miller Home for Children. As a volunteer coach, she taught underprivileged youth the fundamentals of basketball, the physical and psychological benefits of sports and the importance of teamwork.

A native of Maryville, Tennessee, Cobb graduated from La Verne with honors, earning her degree in education.
