SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has announced this week’s Players of the Week and UNCG volleyball’s Christina Gregory (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) has earned her second SoCon Defensive Player of the Week Award this season. This is the second time she has earned the award this season sand her fifth of her career. Last week, Gregory led the Spartans to a 1-1 record as she recorded 49 digs, 5.44 per set.
Gregory played in all nine sets in the two matches last weekend. She went for 17 digs in the four-set victory over Mercer on Friday night. Against Samford, the junior went for 32 digs. The Bulldogs tested Gregory early, but she was up for the challenge as she recorded 13 digs in the first set alone. She recorded a .972 serve reception percentage, having committed just one error in 36 attempts Saturday.
UNCG is back in action this Friday in Spartanburg, South Carolina as it will take on the Wofford Terriers in the Richardson Indoor Stadium.
