Women's Soccer Signs Penn State Transfer Chloe Buehler
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG women’s soccer head coach Michael Coll announced the addition of Penn State goalkeeper Chloe Buehler (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) to the 2014 roster.
Buehler, who redshirted in her only season at Penn State, will have four seasons of eligibility with the Spartans starting this fall.
“Chloe is a great addition to our team,” said Coll. “She has won a state championship as a senior in Ohio and led her team to a perfect 23-0 record in which she had 19 shutouts. There is no doubt that she'll bring some special qualities to the Spartans from her Freshman year spent with a top program at Penn State. Chloe has had adversity that drives her to be a big time competitor at UNCG. She knows the importance of teamwork and we are excited to have her on board in Greensboro.”
Buehler is a goalkeeper who hails from Perrysburg, Ohio. At Perrysburg High School under head coach Jorge Diaz, Buehler was a four-year starter and was named Second Team All-League in 2012. Only eight short months after having back surgery, Buehler helped the Yellow Jackets win their first State Championship and had a perfect season of 23-0 with 19 shutouts. Buehler holds the Perrysburg High School record for most individual shutouts in a season and most shutouts in a career. Her Pacesetter Soccer Club team was the 2011 State Cup finalists in Ohio.
The Spartans will look to build upon their 10-6-4 record from a season ago as they return 22 players this fall for the 2014 campaign.
