GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the third time already this year, UNC Greensboro men’s golfer senior Jonathan Brightwell has been named Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, the league has announced.
This is the fifth time in his career that Brightwell has received the weekly accolade, most in program history and tying for the most in SoCon history.
Last weekend, the Charlotte native took home individual medalist honors at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate with a 13-under par performance. Brightwell secured the victory with a 50-foot putt on the 18thhole. With the outcome, Brightwell became just the fifth player in program history to win multiple individual medalist honors in a single season.
So far this year, Brightwell has yet to finish a round over-par as his 68.44 stroke average leads the SoCon.
The Spartans will return to the course next week to participate in the Crooked Stick Invitational in Carmel, Ind.
