CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – UNC Greensboro volleyball (6-6) was unable to score a victory in the opening match of the Jefferson Cup, falling to Elon 3-0 (25-27, 23-25, 23-25) on Friday afternoon.
UNCG will close out the weekend tournament with matches against Lehigh and host Virginia tomorrow.
Three Things To Know
--For a second straight match, the Spartans were led by senior Emily Keilen and junior Maria Esch in kills with 12.
--Freshman Gabriela McHugh paced all participants in assists with 30.
--With the outcome, UNCG’s lead in the all-time series over Elon is now 27-17.
The Spartans will play in a pair of matches on Saturday against Lehigh and Virginia to close out the Jefferson Cup.
UNCG Volleyball is celebrating 50 years of wonderful memories dedicated to celebrating current and former student-athletes, coaches and staff who have made an impact on our family. The program will be hosting a special celebration the weekend of Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19.
