GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 18, 2018 – UNC Greensboro today announced an extension of its multimedia rights and licensing agreements with IMG through 2028.
“UNCG has had a strong partnership with IMG College since 2008. We have grown together as our program has generated more visibility and exposure providing more opportunities for corporate partnerships,” said Kim Record, Director of Athletics. “Moving forward, we have the opportunity to build the Spartan brand, particularly through our licensing program, and IMG College is positioned to support our future success.”
The multimedia rights partnership between UNCG and IMG College began in 2008. IMG College will continue to provide exclusive representation of the corporate partner program and commercial business for Spartan Athletics including broadcast offerings, sponsorships, hospitality, coach’s endorsements, in-venue signage and much more.
“Together we have built a strong foundation with our partners at UNC Greensboro and we are thrilled to continue our relationship for another ten years,” said Tim Pernetti, President, IMG College. “We will continue to provide unique solutions focused on delivering great opportunities for UNCG’s student-athletes, fans, and supporters.”
IMG will also continue to manage the university’s successful trademark licensing program for the duration of the agreement. UNCG’s licensing royalties have increased 42% since 2009 with a record year of royalties during the 2017-18 fiscal year.
Officially licensed product for UNCG is currently sold at more than 50 retailers across the country. Revenue from the sale of licensed products supports both academics, through scholarships, as well as athletics.
