GREENSBORO, N.C. – Andrew Moritz adds another accolade to his trophy case, this a Second Team All-American honor, named by D1Baseball.com announced Wednesday afternoon. This is the fourth All-America honor Moritz has earned for his performance this season. For his efforts, the Atlanta Braves selected Moritz in the sixth round of last week’s MLB Draft.
This is Moritz’s sixth All-American honor, fourth of the 2018 year. He was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American in his sophomore season and this year he is a Third Team All-American by Baseball America and Perfect Game/Rawlings and was Second Team Google Cloud Academic All-America named by CoSIDA. He also has earned First Team Atlantic All-District honors by the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings earlier today. Moritz finished third in the nation with a .428 batting average, setting a new school record. He was the team leader in runs scored (57), RBI (61), triples (10) and on-base percentage (.492).
